Cultural exhibition

the entrance

Step off the street and inside a dimly lit room.  Audio clips of hip hop basketball metaphors echo throughout the space. You are in an exclusive high-end NBA locker roomThe lockers surrounding you are filled with NBA jerseys and sneakers from some of the most well-known players in NBA history, coupled with their recognized designer street-wear styles. Of all the lockers, three have fog and light emanating through. These are gateways to what lies ahead – fresh, memorable, cultural experiences.

a shot of culture

Through the locker straight ahead, you will find a room filled with Pop-A-Shot.  These special versions of the classic basketball arcade game include high-quality hoops and balls complete with vibrant LED screen backboards.  Displayed on the backboard screens is archive footage that portrays the history of the NBA's influence on culture. Attendees have fun playing an easy, accessible game, while internalizing the cultural significance of the NBA.

Partnerships and Press

The spaces through the locker room doors provide ample opportunity for collaborations with brands that represent a true, refined blend of basketball and culture. We can propose specific ideas for brands to endorse as well as offer the chance for brands to build something with us that aligns with their mission as much as it does the NBA's.  We can work with brands like Beats or Roc Nation to build a music-related activation, EA Sports to tie in the video gaming community, or high-end labels and retailers like Kith or Givenchy to show the NBA's influence on designer fashion.

Influential streetwear publications, Hypebeast and Highsnobiety, can cover the event and attract their massive, loyal sneakerhead followings who always want to be up on the latest in basketball and hip hop fashion. Publications like The Ringer or Bleacher Report can cover the event from a sports fan angle, while large fashion and pop-culture publications like GQ and Complex can bring in a more general audience.

In addition to these sponsored activations, we can have smaller-scale partnerships to fill the entranceway lockers with apparel from relevant athletic brands such as Jordan, Stance, and Mitchell & Ness combined with luxury brands that have partnered with NBA players like Barneys, Del Toro, and Express Men.

exclusive nba kicks

One way we could partner with a brand like Nike or Adidas is by creating a limited edition NBA colorway of a popular sneaker.  We can offer the sneakers to the first 500 or so attendees. One of our activation spaces located through the locker room can be where guests get the opportunity to try on the shoes and maybe shoot a few baskets while wearing them. Guests will then be able to order the shoes via sales rep with iPads - this is one way we can capture important data and contact info on our attendees.

This part of the exhibition can also include other purchasable NBA merchandise.
